5th Annual “Trade Brooklyn” Expo

The 5th Annual Trade Brooklyn was held at the Brooklyn Marriot on April 15th, 2015. It kicked off with the Business Achievement Awards Breakfast, Jon Levin of Cardinal Trade Group (the producer of the expo) and Rob Basso of Advantage Payroll introduced Chamber CEO Mark Jaffe & Chamber Partner Paisley Demby of the LaGuardia Community College Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program. They honored Samuel Dunston of National Allotment, James Gallo of J and M Mechanical Consulting and Carmen Rodriquez & Gina Madera of Brooklyn Cupcake for their success, years of hard work and dedication to the business communities of Brooklyn and the Greater New York Metropolitan area. That was followed by a special presentation by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams to Pastor Gilford Monrose for his faith based and clergy initiatives.

Carmen Rodriguez and Gina Madera are Founders of Brooklyn Cupcake and graduates of “10,000 Small Businesses”. Samuel Dunston is the founder and CEO of the National Allotment Insurance Agency. Mark Jaffe met Sam Dunston while working on the Small Business and Minority Development Committee at the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce 31 years ago. James Gallo of J and M Mechanical serves as a consultant to many city and state agencies and teaches at the Mechanic Institute of General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen in NYC.

The exhibit floor opened at the culmination of the Awards Breakfast, allowing guests to network with almost 2,500 business and civic leaders while visiting hundreds of exhibitors and attending great educational workshops on everything from law to quick books and internet marketing.

Some of the exhibitors included New York RX Card (NY’s FREE “Prescription Discount” Program, SCORE ( the SBA funded counseling program, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses, the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce, the Patchogue Chamber of Commerce and the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.

The Greater New York Chamber of Commerce commends Jonathan Levin of Cardinal Trade Group for producing another great Trade Brooklyn Business Expo..
